Entertainers Promotions, led by Tonderai Banda, said Thursday all was set for the Winter White Party to be held at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe tonight.
Tonderai called upon people to come in large numbers and be part of the fun in celebrating Entertainers Promotions 30th anniversary to be headlined by South African rapper Kwesta, who arrived in the country on Wednesday afternoon.
“People should get ready to be Kwestafied. Kwesta is here. We had to bring him two days before the event so that he could rest and prepare for the show on Friday [today]. As we said last week, he is here with a band and it will be a live performance,” Tonderai, who took over the mantle from his father Jai Banda, said.
The South African artist, who would be making a debut performance in the country, said in a video he was ready for the showdown.
“Everybody that loves fun; just come through and let’s share the music,” Kwesta said.Advertisement
The artist was given a tumultuous welcome on Wednesday by Entertainers Promotions and that included having a taste of one of the Chibuku flavours at the airport.
Chibuku Products Limited last Friday donated K2.9 million to Entertainers Promotions ,which went towards the purchase of flight tickets for Kwesta and his band members.
The company said it had come up with new Chibuku flavours and that they were using the Kwesta show to launch the flavours.
Jai, popularly known as Mr Entertainer, said he was happy with the turn of events.
“We have come a long way; it has not been that easy but God has been with us throughout. We would like to thank people for all the support during these years and I am satisfied with the work that Tonderai is doing,” Jai said.
With the dress code being strictly white, Kwesta is expected to share the stage with local musicians such as Lucius Banda and Zembani Band, Hazel Mak, Piksy, Toast, Temwa, Tuno, Six Solid Band and DJs Trick and Mask.
