After charming the hearts of people with his love track ‘Izathera Mapenalty’ which he dropped last year, Gibo Pearson Tuesday released his first track for 2023 titled ‘Atambwali’.
Ahead of its release Tuesday, Gibo Pearson briefly performed the song at the Chilembwe Day gig on Sunday at Club 24/7 in Blantyre, where he shared the stage with Black Missionaries, Anthony Mr Cool Makondetsa, Khozie Masimbe and Moda Fumulani, with Joe Gwaladi missing out.
“I am happy with the strides that I have made with the track ‘Izathera Mapenalty’. The love that people showed me last year and continue to show me is huge and this is why I am giving them ‘Atambwali’,” he said soon after his performance.
“The reception that ‘Izathera Mapenalty’ received gave me an idea of what people want. And, so, ‘Atambwali’ is equally another good song that resonates well with what people experience in day-to-day life,” he added.
The artist, who has fashioned what he dubs ‘Phalombe music’ from Phalombe District, said he wants to continue to grow his music, hence was open to criticism.
The artist, who has several songs to his credit, is yet to produce an album.
