Give us iPhone X (Ten) not 8
“One of the ways that I believe people express their appreciation to the rest of the humanity is to make something wonderful and put it out there”. Steve Jobs
Tim Cook had the best of times when he unveiled not one product but four at Steve Jobs Theatre.
iPhoneX, contrary to tech rumours, is huge; 5.8 inches (Across diagonals). It is edge to edge and top to bottom Super Retina crystal clear display.
Powered by monster 6-core Apple’s own A11 computer chip is 25 percent faster and 75 percent more efficient than iPhone 7. The new Apple designed graphics chip throws in 30 percent more graphics stamina. The new stereo speakers are 25 percent better with deep bass.
Just like Samsung Galaxy Note 8, iPhone X graces double dual cameras with Object Image Stabilisation (ois) in both the telephoto and wide angle cameras. This means that even if you were disturbed while taking a shot, the result would not be.
iPhone X is a beauty to behold; made from aerospace-grade aluminum, seven layer-colour process glass reinforced with steel. This makes it the most durable smartphone finish ever. It comes in two flavours; silver and space gray. You can opt for either 64GB or 256GB version.
iPhone X comes with Face ID. Just as good as Samsung Galaxy S8, iPhone X can recognise your face even in the dark. Apple claims that its version of Face ID cannot be hacked and would recognise a lady even when she had changed hair style. It will recognize you wearing or not wearing spectacles. There is a lot to be finalized on this feature; it almost embarrassed Apple during the launch.
I am sorry that iPhone is not ready just yet; preorders will only start after October 27 and actual shipments will commence on November 3.
As of now, you can start preordering iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. These are what should have been iPhone 7S and 7S Plus. They are re-engineered versions of iPhone 7 and scaled down editions of iPhone X. They have bezels but have the same feel and power as iPhone X. And of course, ios feature is missing.
Apple also launched Apple Watch Series 3. It has come out of its swell; it has now built in cellular; it can make and receives calls with consulting big brother iPhone. It can stream 40 million songs and has maps to show you directions.
Apple showcased Apple 4K TV. It is 4 times faster than HD. And one more thing, Apple has wireless charging system called Air Power. One charger that can charge the new iPhone, Watch and Earbuds all at one time.
How much? $299, $699, $799 and $999 for Apple Watch Series 3, iPhone8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.
A week after the launch, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are doing awkwardly on the market. The market is no longer frenzied by smartphones with bezels; Samsung S8 and Galaxy note set the tone. Apple’s loyal customers want nothing else but iPhone X. They will have to wait until November 3. So, the magic wand did not work.
