God versus corruption: Causes and guaranteed victory

We dealt with some introduction last week and today we start analysing what causes corruption?

It is easier just to fight it without digging deep into what brings it. May God help us to find out better reasons why we steal from others, organisation or the government.

I remember there was once a company that was doing well but when many started stealing from it, it was closed down. But why?

  1. Poverty. 2. Love of money. 3. Luck of creativity. 4. Laziness. 5. Get rich quick mentality. 6.Copying from others. 7. No fear of God. 8. Corrupt mindset. 9. Ignorance of production science. 10. Poor education. 11. Poor management governance. 12. Evil in a nation.

Now let us start from point number 1.

Poverty is like a monster and when poor people see money there is a drive to take and possess it at all cost to buy whatever has been desired for a long time. Poverty drives many people into corruption.

Poverty makes you a slave to the rich and you want to rise up by any means. Indeed, the poor are ruled by those who have money. Poverty is like slavery.

The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender. (Proverbs 22:7 NKJV)

Poverty is a fertile ground for corruption and any government must find means to alleviate poverty for her citizens which we shall share later on as we go.

However, poverty was cancelled on the cross by the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus came on earth because Adam sinned and was driven out of the blissful garden of Eden. Poverty came as a result of sin. And in righteousness and obedience God promises overtaking blessings.

The Lord Jesus came to deal with sin and poverty as well on top of your salvation.

For you are becoming progressively acquainted with and recognizing more strongly and clearly the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (His kindness, His gracious generosity, His undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) [in] that though He was [so very] rich, yet for your sakes He became [so very] poor, in order that by His poverty you might become enriched (abundantly supplied). (2 Corinthians 8:9 AMPC)

It was by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the plan of God in love that they agreed in heaven to send you and me the Lord Jesus who was so rich in heaven.

Him owning all creation, all gold and silver, in the universe, He decided to come down to the earth leaving all those riches in heavenly city of gold, diamond, rubies and precious stone riches, with golden roads.

Jesus became poor just for you, to redeem you from Adamic sin and poverty and bring you back into the rich garden of Eden.

Therefore, although the Lord Jesus was filthy rich, for your sakes, the Lord became poor so that you through His chosen poverty on the cross might become rich by faith, if you believe, embrace and confess it and live by faith.

It is because of Adamic poverty that God called the new obedient servant, Abraham, with multiple blessings as he would obey God unlike Adam.

God called Abraham with 7 blessings that are transferred to each and every believing believer in Christ Jesus today.

Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. 1. I will make you a great nation; 2 I will bless you 3. And make your name great; 4. And you shall be a blessing. 5. I will bless those who bless you, 6. And I will curse him who curses you; 7. And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. (Genesis 12:1-3 NKJV).

God gave you these 7 Abrahamic blessings that Adam lost and passed them all to you in the Lord Jesus. (Galatians 3:13-14 NKJV)

Prayer: Dear God, you have all, I too have all. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen!
