Golfers cheer juveniles
Shankers, a grouping of Lilongwe Golf Club (LGC) players, cheered juveniles at Kachere Rehabilitation Centre in Lilongwe on New Year’s Day.
The group donated assorted items to the juveniles.
The items included soap, meat, sugar and squash.
Speaking after making the donation, spokesperson of the group, Felisah Kilembe, said the gesture was in line withthe group’s objectives of assisting the under-privileged.
“Being the festive season, people spend time with their families. These are vulnerable children, probably they are missing their families, so we wanted to cheer them up,” Kilembe said.
Management of the centre said the donation would alleviate the challenges which the centre faces.
Last year, the group also donated assorted items to Samalani Childhood Centre in Lilongwe.
The group was formed in 2015 on values such as family, friendship, socialisation and team-building.
