Nyasa Big Bullets right fullback Gomezgani Chirwa has said winning the Hubertus Clausius monthly award will help him work hard on the pitch.
Chirwa was voted Bullets’ player of the month for September and received a trophy with a cash prize of K100,000 on Wednesday after his team defeated Karonga United 4-1 at Kamuzu Stadium.
The Flames fullback, who shrugged off competition from fellow nominees striker Anthony Mfune and midfielder Frank Willard, saluted his teammates and coaches for their support.
“I am grateful to God. He is the one who has enabled me to win this award. I also thank the coaches for their advice as well as my teammates for the support.
“I will continue to work hard to help my team win more silverware. My belief is that team success should always come first,” he said.
Hubertus Clausius Head of Operations Grecium Dimba described their partnership with Bullets as exciting.
“The partnership is working because every stakeholder is committed. Fans are voting for their best players. On the other hand, players are also working hard. We feel the partnership is a win-win situation,” Dimba said.
Chimwemwe Idana and Patrick Mwaungulu were named Bullets’ outstanding players for May and June, respectively, with Precious Sambani winning the award for July and August.
