Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) General Secretary, Carol Bapu, said the second-round was decisive ahead of the third and final round set for Lilongwe next month.

“So, teams need to battle it out to ensure that they remain in contention for the title. Remember, the final round will involve play-offs meant to place teams on positions one to eight,” she said.

Meanwhile, some teams are eager to end Kukoma Diamonds’ perfect winning run in the league.

Blue Eagles Sisters Coach, Sam Kanyenda, said all teams were at par in the competition following the use of Fast5 format.

“The beauty of this format lies in power-play. Once a team relaxes or doses in this period, the other side can make the most of it to chalk victory,” he said.

Thunder Queens Coach, Christina Mkwanda-Nsinji, said the second-round would be crucial.

“I can foresee some shocking and exciting results this weekend,” she said.

Diamonds Assistant Coach, Noel Mussa, admitted it would be tough to maintain their winning run.
