The final two decisive rounds of GOtv Netball Champions League will be completed next month to determine this year’s winners, the organisers have confirmed.

MultiChoice Malawi marketing manager, Chimwemwe Nyirenda, said they set the dates to enable teams and other stakeholders to prepare.

The second round games will be held between November 7 and November 8 in Blantyre while Lilongwe will host the final round on the weekend of November 20 and 21, but the actual fixtures will be communicated later.

Blue Eagles Sisters are the only team with a perfect record in the competition having won all their first three games during the opening weekend in Mzuzu. Eagles were seeded in the GOtv- Plus group alongside defending champions Complex Tigresses, Mafco and debutants Mimosa Queens.

Tigresses lie second while Mafco are third with Mimosa anchoring the group. Meanwhile, Thunder Queens are, on superior aggregate, top of GOtv-Value Group despite losing to Kukoma Diamonds 36-49. Both Kukoma Diamonds and Thunder won two matches and lost once.

Thunder struggled to beat a resolute Civonets in the opening match. By the second quarter, Civo were leading 18-21. But Thunder upped the tempo in the third and last quarter leading 28-25 and eventually won 38-34.

Thunder then beat debutants Lameck Queens 54-25 to collect four points. However, they failed to keep the momentum on Sunday against more determined Kukoma Diamond who beat them 36-49.

Diamonds are second with four points as well in the GOtv Value but feel short-changed as they lost the match against Lameck Queens on paper despite turning up on the court.

Civonets are third on the table while Lameck Queens anchor the table.
