Government hails World Vision for socio-economic projects

At least 33, 000 people from Khuyu community in the area of Inkosi Chindi in Mzimba District are said to have improved their livelihoods, through World Vision Malawi (WVM) projects.

WVM has been in the area for 16 years and bade farewell recently.

Speaking during the farewell event on Wednesday at Endindeni Community Day Secondary School in Mzimba South, Homeland Security Minister Richard Chimwendo Banda said the government appreciates WVM’s work in the country.

Chimwendo Banda, who was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Local Government Halima Daudi, asked other non-governmental organisations to borrow a leaf from WVM in developing rural areas.

WVM National Director Francis Dube said the organisation, through its 2021-25 strategy, was targeting to improve directly the well-being of two million children and impacting 4.5 million others indirectly through policy advocacy and changes.
