MINISTERING THROUGH MUSIC—Shammah

Fresh from their ‘Nza Yahweh’ Celebration concert at Robin’s Park in Blantyre, Lilongwe-based Great Angels Choir last Friday performed in Blantyre sharing the stage with Shammah Vocals.

The group, alongside Shammah, spiced up the launch of St Columba CCAP raffle draw.

St Columba CCAP Fundraising Committee invites Great Angels Choir alongside other gospel artists to perform during such an occasion every year and they have always been available.

The raffle draw launch saw St Columba CCAP fundraising committee unveil prizes which include a one-and-half tonne lorry, refrigerator, TV screen, smartphones and branded T-shirts.

Fundraising Chairperson Chrispin Chikwama said they were happy with the event and the support from people.

“All artists put up energetic performances. As for the raffle draw, tickets are on sale and we sold some tonight,” Chikwama said.

He said the prizes would be handed out on December 5 2021.

“With all these good prizes, we thought we should give people enough time to buy tickets. Let me say it here that the raffle draw is open to everyone and not only members of St Columba CCAP,” Chikwama said.

The raffle draw is aimed at raising funds for a nursery school.

Great Angels Choir offered songs from their previous albums as well as the latest track ‘Nza Yahweh’ from their forthcoming album Ufumu Umodzi Siuukilana.

The group’s music director Ephraim Zonda said it has been a great week for them performing in Blantyre twice within a short period.

“People have welcomed the three promotional songs we dropped; ‘Nza Yahweh’, ‘Ndizingwa’ and ‘Ndikhale’. We now want to finish the album and we hope to do that this month,” Zonda said.

Shammah Vocals of the ‘No Reverse’ fame described the event as good coupled with good performances.

“It’s been hard with Covid to hold shows and I pray that things normalise. For me, this is the beginning of more concerts to come,” he said.
