Griffin Young Stars break FMB record

Griffin Young Stars have set a record in FMB Under-20 Junior Football League after lifting the Blantyre Zone title unbeaten.
Griffin were crowned champions at Chiwembe Ground in Blantyre on Sunday after collecting 76 points from 30 games, winning 23 matches and drawing seven.
The team’s Coach and owner, Griffin Saenda Junior, said it was a terrific season.

“It was a tough season. We lost some players due to the age-bracket [after they became over-aged] but we didn’t allow that to affect us. The boys fought hard and executed my instructions,” he said.
It is the third time that Griffin have qualified for the national championship of the league.
