A Get Well Soon Club has been created with the aim of raising close to K30 million to help veteran musicians Sir Paul Banda and Isaac Liotcha to get medical treatment.
The two artists are in need of urgent medical attention that would require more money, hence the target of K30 million.
One of the members of the Get Well Soon Club— which also has Soldier Lucius Banda’s son Johnny, Coss Chiwalo and Dr Raphael Piringu, Charles Sinetre— said Sunday that they were looking for assistance from well-wishers to raise the K30 million.
“Sir Paul Banda needs urgent medical attention as he has a heart and kidney problem while Isaac Liotcha has a condition known as osteoporosis which is to do with bones. These conditions need medical attention in top hospitals and so this will require more money and the target is K30 million,” Sinetre said.
He said the money would help the two legends get medical attention in or outside the country.
Sinetre said the Get Well Soon Club has been meeting through both virtual and physical meetings and that they have since created an FDH account where well-wishers can deposit the money.
“We have created an account which is FDH Bank Account Name: Get Well Soon Club, Account Number 1230000176191, Balaka Branch. We also have Airtel and Mpamba accounts on the following numbers 0999196912 and 0882236082 respectively,” he said.
He said people can reach out to him or Dr Piringu and Dr Kadammanja.
Meanwhile, Sinetre has said they have planned to have a virtual show as part of fundraising “Tentatively we are preparing a virtual show and during the show we will invite a few people to help out in this fundraiser and people will also have time to donate some money through the accounts provided,” he said.
The virtual show is set to be held on Mikozi Network on May 9 2021.
“We will be updating people on the developments and we pray that people come out and help these two legends who have entertained us for years with their music,” Sinetre said.
