Voters will have a hard choice to make in selecting the best dancing groups as Ka Jive Season Four as it goes into the first round of elimination stage.

Ten groups battle it out at Times Entertainment Studio in Blantyre in the first round of elimination stage and people are expected to vote to keep their favourite group.

The groups that performed on Saturday are Brightos, Soweto Babies, Anomix, Momentum, Tridax Chibaya, Born Major, Khybon Dance, Invisible Crew, Roll Up Dance Crew and The Gap Connection.

Unlike during auditions, where the groups were performing freestyles, this time the groups were challenged to fuse in Manganje, one of the country’s traditional dances, in their routine.

Some groups failed to live up to the expectations in the traditional dance category.

Times Group Marketing Manager Lusayo Msukwa, said after the elimination show, they were satisfied with the performances of the groups.

“Times TV is proud to have delivered the first elimination show for Ka Jive Season Four. The show was lively and entertaining. We thank the people who came out to be part of the first elimination show and as indicated,” Msukwa said.

“We were also overwhelmed with the response from the public who were voting during the live transmission. We are still receiving the votes throughout the week. So, we call upon people to continue voting by sending the word KAJIVE followed by the group number of your favourite group to 1895,” he said.

Spearheaded by Times Group through Times Television, Ka Jive Season Four started with auditions which saw 30 groups going through to the elimination round.

With the first elimination stage done, people should look forward to two elimination shows featuring 10 groups each.

A total of 15 groups will make it to the next round of the dance competition.

The winner of the competition is expected to walk away with K1 million while the runner-up will receive K400,000.

The second runner-up will receive K150,000 courtesy of Mchinji Boys Construction led by Justice Katika.

There are also other consolation prizes during the dance competition with its signature Tivine Zimenezi.

Ka Jive dance competition’s grand finale will be held on December 19 2020.
