South Africa-based musician Gwamba will launch his latest album Mama Said God First at Lilongwe Golf Club on December 21 2019.
The launch follows the release of the album on September 29 2019.
“I am very happy to announce Mama Said God First album launch,” Gwamba said.
Some quarters have described the album as not of good taste compared to his previous albums.
However, Gwamba said Thursday he was happy with the response he has received so far and that he was looking forward to the launch.
“So far the response has been great. I am starting with Lilongwe as regards the launch but will be moving to Mzuzu and then other areas,” he said.
Gwamba said people can access his album online on platforms such as Mikozi, Itunes, Deezer, Spotify and Tidal.
With technology taking centre stage, artists have embraced online platforms as part of selling their songs and albums compared to the traditional way.
Gwamba’s album was produced by DJ Sley and BfB.
The 11-track album has songs such as ‘You Are Everything’ featuring Tumi, ‘Mtima Pansi’, featuring Onesimus, ‘Nthawi Zanji’, featuring Fredokiss, ‘Akondakitale’, featuring Lawi and ‘Unatha’.
The artist is signed to Major 1 Records spearheaded by Prophet Shepherd Bushiri. Other acts who are also signed to Major 1 Records include Onesimus and Wendy Harawa.
This is Gwamba’s second gospel album after Jesus is My Boss which he released in 2016.
“I am happy with the progress I have made. The first album also did well on the market with successful songs such as ‘Better’, and ‘Alleluyah’,” Gwamba said.
