CHIWALO—It was only right and proper to refresh

Gospel musician Harris Chiwalo is out with his second album Step Two.

Chiwalo debuted with Ndinu Mulungu in 2014 before launching it the same year.

“I have been out for some time and this break and silence was an opportunity for me to learn new things as music is changing. Again a break also gives you time to reflect on your music, the first album was more like a test and so having so having done better, it was only right and proper to refresh,” Chiwalo said.

He said the break has also given him a chance to rebrand and reposition himself.

“I feel I have come with another different package for the people in the second album and there are good songs with mature messages,” Chiwalo said.

The 14-track album, set to be launched in June 2019 ,has songs such as ‘ Tulutsani Wanu’, ‘Mwa Yesu’, ‘Chingwe’, ‘Mfuwu’ and ‘Nyimbo Yako’.

He said he is looking at offering more this year.

“Last year I released a song ‘Musayimbe Nawo’, and later in October I also released ‘Uchembere’, and I did all this to give people a taste of what was to come in my second album,” he said.

He said he has received words of encouragement from people on his music.

“When you receive feedback from people, you get motivated. I am happy with the words of encouragement I have got. It is not only about receiving positive feedback but criticism is good because you also improve,” the
artist said.
