Gospel musician Harry Tsegula has reappeared with singles as he attempts to release an album.
Tsegula has so far dropped five singles ahead of the new project and they include ‘Chisomo’, ‘Ndikudikilabe’, ‘Umudalire’, ‘Mwandikondela’ and ‘Oyera Mbee’.
He said, if all goes according to plan, the new album will be out by December.
“I have mostly been abroad doing other things that did not permit me to concentrate in music,” Tsegula said.
He said he is now deeply rooted to shows and that he is looking forward to holding live performances.
“It’s been sometime since I held shows in the country but I am now ready for them. It’s hard at the moment due to Covid and the creative industry has suffered a lot, especially in the absence of shows which are a source of income for many,” Tsegula said.
He also said he was looking forward to collaborating with several musicians, having done so in his previous projects.
“Previously I have worked with Grecium Mokwena in Ndaliona Dzanja album and late Joseph Tembo in Ndamuona Mulungu album, ”Tsegula said.
In a bid to refresh his songs, the artist has worked with producers such as Tricky Beatz and Steve Meleka.
Tsegula also said the trend has changed now, in that artists are concentrating more on singles than albums.
“Artists are selling singles and it’s working. In other countries, our friends are making more money with singles and we hope this will also work here,” he said.
Tsegula’s track ‘Chisomo’ has done well on the market since he released it and continues to enjoy airplay in different outlets.
“I am hoping to break through just as I have done with previous albums but, all in all, my mission is to minister the word of God through music,” he said.
