A brand new festival known as Pamchenga starts next month.
The three-day annual gospel music festival will be held at Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima from 2 to 4 December.
In a letter dated October 27, 2016 which The Daily Times has seen, Sunbird Livingstonia indicates that everything is in place for them to host the festival which will feature close to 33 gospel musicians.
The letter addressed to festival organisers and signed by Sunbird Livingstonia General Manager Nedson Chikuta, also indicates that the festival will be graced by an international act namely Ephraim from Zambia.
Pamchenga Communications and Corporate Affairs Manager Tamika Milimbo said the festival was all about celebrating God through music.
“We want to celebrate God through gospel music and the word. We want this to be a powerful and memorable yearly event for the Christian kindred in the family,” Milimbo said.
He said the festival will be running annually and that this was just the inaugural.
Some of the main artists to perform at the festival are Ethel Kamwendo-Banda, Paul Banda and Wycliffe Chimwendo.
Milimbo said tickets are being sold out through various outlets such as Puma filling stations at K10,000 for individuals for three-days and K40,000 for a family of five.
