Here comes Sound and Light Concert

ENTERTAINERS Promotions on Tuesday said they have what it takes to host any event in the country featuring both local and international acts.

Tonderai Banda, who is now running the shots for Entertainers Promotions taking over from his father Jai popularly known as Mr Entertainer said they are introducing new things with new set of equipment. “This is why we are hosting the Sound and Light Concert to promote local talent but also at the same time show our powerful equipment.

Some quarters have said we cannot hold top festivals in the country because we do not have equipment but we are saying we have the equipment,” said Tonderai. He said that they are ready for the Sound and Light concert scheduled for Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima tomorrow which will bring on board several artists.

“We just want to call upon people to come in large numbers and patronise this concert, there is alot for them to sample, we will start in time and finish in time. All the bands on the lineup are ready and have been practising,” said Tonderai.

He also said that he is ready to step into his father’s shoes and sustain Entertainers Promotions which has been in the forefront hosting different events and promoting different artists. “My father has passion for arts and this is why he has been running Entertainers Promotions for years. But I believe it’s time to step up and assist him.

There is alot which I am bringing just to strengthen Entertainers and for instance we have big screens where people will be watching the show,” said Tonderai.

He also said that they want to make sure that people from Diaspora should watch the event live as it happens through YouTube.

Tonderai said as Entertainers Promotions they want to showcase talent from the local artists hence having a line-up full of local artists.

“Our artists need such platforms and so this is why we are saying this is all local and nothing. It’s family entertainment we have gospel music and secular on one stage and so it will be all fine,” he said.

Some of the artists set to perform tomorrow include Black Missionaries, Skeffa Chimoto, Dan Lu, Anthony Makondetsa, Piksy, Kamuzu Barracks Gospel Singers, Great Angels, Maskal, Police Orchestra, Mulangeni Sounds, Gwamba and Lulu.

Meanwhile Entertainers Promotions has received more support from different companies ahead of the concert with the latest coming from Blockbuster which donated some money.
