Blantyre-based afro pop star Hilco, real name Hilda Ulolo, on Monday released a new track titled ‘Hustle’.
Hilco said the release of the new track is a clear indication that she has more in store for the people this year.
She said the new song talks about the uniqueness of money, adding that no matter what, money remains money despite its different types of sources.
Hilco has, however, moved in with dancehall in the track. She said she has picked dancehall as a surprise package to the people.
“I thought about money, how we use it and what it means and the sources but, whatever the case, money will always be money regardless of the sources,” the 26-year-old artist famed for the hit ‘Chekecheke’ said.
She said the song would be part of a-10-track album that she expects to release soon.
With the creative industry affected by Covid-19, a lot of musicians are finding it hard to make ends meet, let alone work on projects.
Hilco said she was praying for the best this year and that she is praying to God that the situation should normalise soon so that artists go about their business of live performances.
Her song ‘Hustle’ has been produced by Blantyre-based Tricky Beats, real name Patrick Manyozo.
The track comes out barely six months after the artist released ‘Ndakodwa’.
