Hilco, Sangie in collabo

Singer Hilco has resurfaced with a new single titled ‘Pemphero’ which has seen her collaborating with Sangie.

The audio and video for the song will be released today.

Hilco said Sunday that the track is all about giving hope to the hopeless and that, no matter the challenge “we go through, there is always light at the end of the tunnel and that we should always look up to God”.

“Sometimes we lose hope whenever we encounter problems but God is always there for us and all we need to do is pray and He will hear the prayer,” she said.

Hilco said, in the song, a wife is complaining to her friend about her husband’s behaviour and tells her friend about it.

“Friends are there to give us support but we should always look up to God first. We need to trust in the Lord,” the singer said.

Hilco said she was inspired to do the song after noticing the several challenges that women go through as well as issues of gender-based violence.

“Gender-based violence is rampant in the country and I thought I should use my talent to tackle it using a Christian perspective,” she said.

Sangie said teaming up with Hilco in the track is special and that she enjoyed working with her.

The track was produced by Tricky Beatz and Sispense, with the video done by Ron Cz.

“We thought of working together because it felt necessary and right to work with a fellow female for once. We ought to come together because we are also long-time friends,” Sangie said.

She further said people should expect more vibes from her and Hilco.

This is the first time for the two artists to collaborate.

It seems female artists are making strides in terms of working together as, recently, Ritaa also worked with Leslie in the track ‘Wa Ine’.

Fortune, Kwinie Bee and their colleagues also worked on a track ‘Ndadutsa Pompo’, which was responding to Nepman’s ‘Wadutsa Pompa’.
