HYPHEN —We trust all will go according to plan

One of the talented rappers in the country Hyphen, formerly Young Kay, takes to the stage Saturday to give people a treat in an appreciation show.

The artist of the ‘Anankabango’ fame said Thursday he was set for the concert.

“It’s all good, I am ready and people should brace for something special,” he said.

Hyphen said he has prepared a good number of songs.

“I am already in the capital, doing rehearsals with the band. We trust all will go according to plan,” he said.

One of the organisers of the show, Emmanuel Chikuse said last week that the concert has been inspired by a recent show that Mikozi Network held at its studios in Blantyre featuring Phungu Joseph Nkasa.

Chikuse has since thanked people for their response to the project.

“Special mention should go to Chef Ipyana for providing his famous goat soup to people that have contributed. Doll Mabel has given out five sets of lingerie as appreciation to females that have contributed and there are lots of players who have supported,” he said.

Mingle is set to host Hyphen on the day of the event in Lilongwe as well as providing food.

The concert will be produced by Nyali Muzik at their studios and be broadcast live on Hyphen’s Facebook page.

“We would have loved to have one of our TV stations broadcast the event but costs for that have not been met,” Chikuse said.

Hyphen, who has indicated that he would be releasing an album later this year, also hailed fellow artist Gwamba for doing a fundraiser for the concert.

“Gwamba took it upon himself to do a fundraiser for the concert to raise K500,000 in 30 minutes on Twitter. The goal was reached with the help of Ben Wandawanda, Ephraim Nyondo, Pemphero Mphande and Chifundo Khembo,” he said.
