Rapper Hyphen formerly Young Kay has said that he is working on a new album, almost a decade after he stormed the industry with First Impression.

The artist said this in an interview following the release of his single titled ‘Arozi’.

He said that plans for a new album were underway and that his fans should expect a few other good things from him after the release of the new track.

“I have plans for an album. I am actually working towards that. I am just taking my time with it because I always strive to give my fans the best. People should expect to hear a few more tracks which I will be releasing as I am completing the album. There are also other good things that I will be putting out to my fans,” Hyphen said.

The ‘Anankabango’ star, who, is arguably one of the best hip-hop artists in the country, has not been fully active in the industry over the years.

Apart contributing verses on a couple of collaborations, his last solo track came back in 2017 when he released ‘Tsidya Lina’ featuring Lilongwe-based dancehall musician Malinga Mafia.

However, Hyphen insists that he has been active in the music industry, only that he was focusing on supporting projects of other artists.

“I have been active, despite not putting out many solo tracks over the years. I have only been trying to support other artists’ projects. So this is not a comeback as I have been around and I have been doing music,” Hyphen said.

The new song, ‘Arozi’, released last week, was produced, mixed and mastered by DJ Sley.
