Be Forward Wanderers Captain, Alfred Manyozo Junior, has said he is excited with their TNM Super League opening 2-1 win over Silver Strikers on Saturday at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.
Manyozo said he wants to lead the team with a sense of maturity and defend the league championship.
“It is a good feeling leading the team that I love most. It makes you grow as a person since you have big responsibilities on your shoulders. This helps one to improve their performance on the pitch,” Manyozo said.
Manyozo said recent reports over indiscipline in the team were water under the bridge.
“Wanderers is a disciplined team with a lot of responsible players. So it is easy to work with the guys,” he said.
Manyozo added that he was delighted with the support he receives from senior players such as Joseph Kamwendo and Esau Kanyenda.
“Esau and Joseph are my senior players and they help me a lot in leading the team. In fact, they are like my elder brothers. We are family,” Manyozo said.
