Innobuild hikes sponsorship

By Bernard Mhone:
Innobuild Private Limited has increased its contribution to Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) Simso Innobuild Premier Division from K5 million to K10 million.
It means the sponsorship is now valued at K15 million as Simama and Sons contribute K5 million.
Innobuild Operations Manager Fumbani Chirambo said they increased their allocation to the league after being swayed by how NRFA managed the league last season.
“We want to help develop the sport, hence increasing our package,” he said.
Chirambo asked NRFA to introduce gate collections to generate money for stakeholders.
“Our company is innovative and we expect NRFA to be innovative as well. People must be prepared to pay at the gates,” he said.
On his part, NRFA Chairperson Lameck Khonje hailed Innobuild for increasing its contribution to the sponsorship package.
“We are delighted with the development. We commend Innobuild for the gesture. We hope that the champion will pocket K7 million and the league will be competitive,” Khonje said.
During prize presentation, champions Chitipa United received K3 million with gold medals and a trophy whereas runners-up Baka City got K1.5 million.
Third-placed Kadona Stars received K1 million.
Mayamiko FC forward Saulos Moyo received K75,000 for winning the Golden Boot award with 16 goals.
Ekwendeni United were named the most disciplined.
