INS Media signs young Stonz

Blantyre-based entertainment media and artist promotion firm INS Media Entertainment has signed singer and guitarist Mumdelanji Lungu.

Mundelanji, son to renowned musician late Stonald Lungu, confirmed the development over the weekend.

Mumdelanji is a member of Young Stonz. His late father was well known as Stonz among his followers.

“I have for a long time been looking for a manager and promoter but now after many years I am happy that INS Media has come forth,” he said.

Mummdelanji said he is optimistic that things will get better with his music adding that he wants to continue the journey that his father started.

INS Media official Martin Kantande said they are looking at working with different artists and that for now they have picked Mumdelanji because of his immense talent.

“It’s not about just signing artists for the sake of it but we are looking at talent, promise and future.

If you listen to Mumdelanji’s music, you will hear that his songs are mature and he is talented,” said Kantande.

He said their firm which is registered is a new player on the media entertainment landscape in the country and that it has more to offer in terms of building the creative industry.

“We are specialists in each sphere connected to audiovisual production, event management, publicity and marketing; this means that we offer a holistic service to each client as well as music artists we have signed,” he said.

Kantande maintained they are serious in what they are doing.

“We firmly believe that any artist promotion drive has to incorporate all these facets; the result is sure to be a well coordinated, comprehensive marketing drive,” said Kantande.

Meanwhile Kantande has revealed that the first assignment with Mumdelanji is to launch a double CD and DVD of the Mzimu wa Agogo album in September.

He said that their vision was to position local artists with talent as integral members of the global multimedia family.

Mumdelanji, who performed during the jazz afternoon last weekend in Blantyre sharing the stage with Ben Mankhamba and veteran Wendyham Chechamba has won the hearts of many with his songs such as ‘Ndimakukonda.’
