Intercape adds six new buses to fleet

Intercape has added six modern buses to its fleet to service travellers between Malawi and South Africa.

Unveiling the buses in Lilongwe earlier in the week, the company said the development is meant to improve customer experience.

The buses are complete with modern facilities, including phone charging portals, state-of-the-art toilet facilities and air conditioning.

Speaking during the launch of the new busses, the company’s Operations Manager for Africa, Riaan Merony, said the move was meant to protect their customers from accidents that occur from using buses that have worked beyond their lifespan.

“It is in the best interest of the passengers. It is about the safety concerns that we have on the roads so we had to do it for our Malawian customers and you will find these kind of buses on this route alone,” Merony said.

One of the passengers who witnessed the launch, Junior Clifford Wandale, could not hide his excitement stressing that the coaches will guarantee peace of mind for travelers, especially on long distances such as Malawi and South Africa.

“I have never seen such type of coaches in Malawi and you cannot compare with other buses that travel to South Africa. Intercape has clearly beaten its competitors. I am so impressed and I believe tourists who love to travel by road will now visit Malawi because of the comfort of these coaches,” Wandale said.
