Into Sports has donated training equipment valued at K1.5 million to the Malawi National Football Team.
The equipment included a training kit of eight mannequins, two sets of shalom poles, 100 marker cones and 50 cones.
The donation follows request from the Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Resource Mobilisation team ahead of next year’s Africa Cup of Nations finals slated for Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Into Sports Director Shabir Ismael said they made the donation after being inspired by the recent win by the Flames against Mozambique in a Fifa World Cup Group D qualifier.
“We were swayed by the win and felt we should do something to the team. We will be looking at ways of how best to continue supporting Fam and the Flames,” Ismail said.
The taskforce’s chairperson Justice Jabbar Alide, who is also Fam First Vice President, hailed Into Sports for the gesture.
“We need such partners to help the Flames prepare thoroughly for Afcon,” he said.
Alide also disclosed that his committee had lined up activities, including dinner and golf, to raise about K450 million.
