Isama partners Malawi National Spelling Bee
Barely a week after getting a K5 million sponsorship package from Victoria Forex Bureau, Malawi National Spelling Bee has partnered Independent Schools Association of Malawi (Isama) in an effort to have more private schools participate in the competition.
A press statement from Malawi National Spelling Bee says they have signed a five-year partnership with Isama.
“We as Malawi National Spelling Bee, believe in partnerships and the coming in of Isama will go a long way in boosting the competition, which is aimed at uplifting reading and writing culture in the country,” Malawi National Spelling Bee founder Lewis Mbaula said.
He said, since its inception, Malawi National Spelling Bee has proved vital in helping learners gain exposure and confidence needed in public speaking and, at the same time, develop a range of cognitive skills as well as improve their vocabulary.
Isama has since said that it will strive to make sure that private schools participate in the competition and that it will also strive to bring checks and balances to make sure that the delivery of the programme is up to standard.
Malawi National Spelling Bee works in partnership with other players in the competition and they includes the government through Ministry of Education and World Vision International.
