Ishmael Thindwa wants Caps contract terminated
Former Epac hit-man, Ishmael Thindwa, has written to the Football Association of Malawi (Fam) asking the association to negotiate with their Zimbabwean counterparts to allow him terminate his contract with Harare giants, Caps United.
The 2011 and 2013 TNM Super League Golden Boot Award winner, who is on loan at Be Forward Wanderers, wants to leave Caps permanently.
Thindwa’s manager, Roy Mdechi, confirmed on Tuesday to have written Fam seeking termination of a three-year contract he signed with Caps in 2014 season.
Mdechi said, among other things, Caps have failed to pay Thindwa the remaining signing-on fees and other dues.
Mdechi also added that his player is failing to land other deals as he is still contracted to Caps.
“Actually on Saturday, we met the Transfer Matching System manager, Casper Jangale, who has promised to take up the matter. I want him to play for a new club, but we are failing,” Mdechi said.
However, Jangale said the process of terminating the contract will take time as Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) also needs to talk to Caps.
“We will do our part to assist him because we also understand that Caps did not finish paying his former club the remaining balance, so we need to look at how best to handle this issue,” Jangale said.
Thindwa has been struggling with an injury since joining the Nomads this year, and he just played once for the Lali Lubani boys.
