All is set for Kudakwache Banda and Limbani Masamba who will square up in an eight-round-non title welterweight fight at M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe on Sunday.

Kudakwache represents New Dawn Boxing Promotion while Limbani is sponsored by No Pain No Gain Boxing Promotions.

To spice up the event, Yobe Kamnyonya of New Dawn will take on No Pain No Gain’s Israel Kam’mwamba in the main supporting fight.

“Basically, as New Dawn, we want to give a platform to these two up-and-coming boxers to showcase their rare talent as an undercard for Kudakwache versus Limbani Masamba welterweight non-title bout,” said Mike Chimaliza of New Dawn Boxing Promotions.

He said Israel and Yobe were young boxers who have taken boxing fans by storm.

“Every time they step into the ring, they are welcomed by echoes of support because of their rare talent. As New Dawn, we believe these are two up-and-coming boxers who will be next big things in boxing circles. New Dawn Boxing Promotions believes in giving youngsters with talent some space to shine,” he said.

Chimaliza said the rise of Kudakwache and Makawa on the local scene had given more impetus to promoters to give the young ones a chance to rise.

The New Dawn Boxing Promotions boss said the pair first met two months ago with Kam’mwamba winning on points.

“Yobe complained of the short notice he was given and did not even prepare. But he did not want to disappoint the No pain No Gain camp that is a close promoter to us,” he said.
