Comedian Izeki real name John Nyanga of the Izeki and Jakobo fame is responding to treatment and recovering at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.

The comedian hailed Malawians for their prayers Tuesday and thanked the medical personnel for their care.

“God is good all the time. He has been with me throughout and He continues looking after me. I have been here for a longtime but I am now recovering,” said the comedian.

Izeki, who has entertained Malawians for years with his colleague Jakobo real name Eric Mabedi, also said he is in need of financial support.

“As I said I have been here for long and I greatly need support from well wishers. I thank all Malawians for their prayers and they should continue praying for me,” said the comedian, on a wheel chair as he sought fresh air outside the ward.

The comedian is admitted in ward 3B.

Izeki looked energetic and cracked some jokes with The Daily Times adding that he would have loved to be part of the just ended Blantyre Arts Festival (BAF) where he was billed to perform on Sunday with Jakobo.

“I wish I was there to be part of the festival but I could not because as human beings we get sick and that is the situation I am in. All I can say is God is good and soon I will be out,” said the comedian.

Izeki called upon well wishers, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), the government and companies to support him.

Izeki has in the past years also starred with Kwathu Drama Group before he later quit to concentrate on preaching the word of God.

BAF organisers put Izeki ndi Jakobo on their menu before Izeki got sick.
