Jack dates Mwamaso
Mzuzu-based boxer Felix Mwamaso and Juma Jack from Blantyre have a chance of exiting 2017 highly or lowly, as they clash at Obrigado Leisure Centre in Mzuzu today.
Baghdad Boxing Promotions has organised the eight-round non-title fight.
Mwamaso, the super welterweight pugilist, said he would like to end the year 2017 with a win so as to give his fans something to smile about.
He, on the other hand, was cautious of Jack, who he said, has been fighting against experienced boxers.
In his last outing two months ago, Mwamaso defeated Tanzanian Six “Machine” Bruno at the same venue.
“Everything is in place on my part. Juma is a good boxer and he has fought against many great boxers such as Chimwemwe Chiotcha and Mussa Ajibu.
“But it is good to finish the year with a good record. This is why I am aiming for nothing short of victory,” Mwamaso said.
Oh his part, Jack said he was ready to show Mwamaso what he has never seen.
“I am told he is good boxer, but by the end of the day, my actions in the ring would separate a man from a boy. I am not sure whether he would last all the rounds,” he said.
Meanwhile, Baghdad Boxing Promotions front-runner, Willard Mwamlima, said the bout is a New Year gift to Mzuzu boxing fans.
“The idea of inviting a Blantyre-based boxer was meant to give boxing lovers a classic fight. It is a thank you to Mzuzu boxing fans for their support in 2017.
“It is also an assurance to all people here in the Northern Region,” he said.
