Malawi Anti-Doping Organisation (Mado) Chairperson James Mwenda has been re-appointed as the country’s representative in the Africa Zone VI Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (Rado) Board for the next four years.

Mwenda, a former Football Association of Malawi (Fam) vice president, has been re-appointed upon approval of the country’s Ministry of Youth and Sports and Malawi Olympic Committee.

A press release that Mado released Tuesday states: “Mado wishes to thank Rado, the Government of Malawi and the National Olympic Committee for trusting its chairperson with this important role.”

“l feel very much honoured. This gives me the confidence to continue representing my country well as I did during the first term of office. I promise to continue representing my country with dedication,” he said.

He is no longer at Fam after losing a presidential election for the association to incumbent Walter Nyamilandu in December 2019.

Mado was formed in line with International Convention Against Doping and World Anti-Doping Agency codes in September 2013.
