Japanese donates to Lilongwe volleyball
Japanese volleyball coach, Nakamura Sensie, has through her colleague Miki Fujiwara, donated 130 match-balls and nets to Central Region Volleyball League side, Lilongwe Spikers.
Spikers’ Team Manager, Chipiliro Kantikana, said the donation would go towards the club’s youth development programme.
“We have maintained our relationship with Sensie since 2010.
He has been supporting volleyball in Malawi through donating fairly used original volleyballs that are hard to find, not only in Malawi, but also in the Zone Six volleyball region,” Kantikana said.
He said Spikers want to construct a volleyball court in Area 25 [Lilongwe] with support from sponsor, Kiboko Safaris, to ensure that the donation benefits aspiring volleyball players.
Speaking from Japan, Sensie said he was excited to be associated with the development of volleyball in Malawi.
