The country seems to be attracting a lot of international acts and next month will see several international artists’ performances.

One of the musicians set to perform in the country is Nigeria’s gospel star Jimmy D Psalmist.

Jimmy D Psalmist popularly known as Jimmy Johnson will perform in the country on May 12 at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.

His performance will come barely a week after the same venue will also host renowned South African gospel musician Reverend Benjamin Dube.

Dube will perform at BICC on May 4 courtesy of National Friends of Church of Central African Presbyterian (FOCCAPSO) in partnership with Qoncept Creative.

One of the organisers of the concert DJ Maya said everything was in place.

“We realised that Jimmy D Psalmist music is amongst the most listened as far as gospel music is concerned and so we decided to host him and let people see him live,” he said.

DJ Maya said the ‘Mighty Man of War’ star will jet into the country on May 9 ahead of his May 12 concert that will cost K15,000 for standard tickets and K25,000 VIP.

The Nigerian gospel musician will share the stage with The Great Angels Choir and Ethel Kamwendo Banda.

With many Malawians frustrated with organisers for lying when it comes to bringing international acts, who most of the times end up not showing up, DJ Maya said the Nigerian artist had already posted on his Instagram about the concert.

The musician said Malawians should expect a mighty move of God during the concert that will be as a result of intense praise and worship session.

“There will be revival, healings, deliverance and manifestation of the power of God. There will be music in its finest and heaven will kiss the earth on May 12,” he said.

The Nigerian musician, who hails from Akwa Ibom State, said he is vested with the anointing to bring down the presence of God in a very heavy dimension via worship.

Meanwhile Fifteen Sports Bar and Lounge in Blantyre will also on May 12 host South African act Distruction Boys.
