John Lanjesi eyes return

Nyasa Big Bullets captain, John Lanjesi, has expressed hope about his return to action in the 2020 season. Lanjesi has been out of action since early last season when he sustained a knee injury after leading Bullets to the league title in 2018.
The former Civo Service United defender said he was hopeful of a return in the new season.
“It has not been easy watching action from the sidelines. I am now feeling much better and I should be ready for the new season. I have been going to College of Medicine to complete my recovery process,” Lanjesi said.
He said the suspension of football action due to the Covid-19 pandemic would give him the chance to catch up with his teammates ahead of the new season’s kick off.
Bullets Team Manager, James Chilapondwa, described Lanjesi’s recovery as encouraging. “We are encouraged by his recovery. He has made a lot of progress after undergoing physiotherapy.
But I cannot tell when he will be back in action. That is for our team doctor to say,” Chilapondwa said. The Team Doctor, Felix Mwalule, said Lanjesi had fully recovered from the knee injury and could return by June.
“The injury is gone and he is now concentrating on rehabilitation. He is spending a lot of time in the gym,” Mwalule said.
