John Lanjesi opts for Silver Strikers
After receiving several suitors during the transfer window, Civo United defender, John Lanjesi, has decided to cross to the other side of town after choosing Silver Strikers as his next destination.
In an exclusive interview on Wednesday, Lanjesi said he had been approached by the Bankers and Mighty Be Forward Wanderers but he has decided to remain in the Capital City and move to the blue side of town.
“I had talks with both clubs and Silver Strikers looked the more determined to get me. They also gave me a good offer that I think is a good motivation for me,” he said.
“I am just waiting for the Civo management to give me feedback as they are currently discussing my transfer deal.”
Civo United general secretary, Rashid Ntelera, said the club would not block Lanjesi’s move away from the club.
“Silver Strikers and Be Forward Wanderers officially presented their transfer bids for the players. It is now his prerogative to choose whichever club he wants to go to. Even though we still want him at the club, we will not block his move,” he said.
Ntelera added that the club had not yet set a price tag on the player.
“The committee has to sit down and determine the value of the player. After the meeting, we will communicate to the clubs on the transfer price of the player,” he said.
Meanwhile, Silver Strikers coach Stain Chirwa said Lanjesi would be a good addition to the Bankers’ side.
