Joseph Chirwa engages veterans in executive launch
Gospel musician Joseph Chirwa has engaged the services of veteran musicians Paul Banda and Apostle Enesia Chitheka Lewis to be part of his executive CD launch of his album By My Spiirit.
The executive launch will be held at Sunbird Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre on April 8.
“My album is basically a worship CD and most of the songs are praise and worship songs. This is my area of music and this is the area I am gifted,” said the musician.
He said he has decided to bring Paul and Apostle Chitheka Lewis to be part of the launch because he wants people to sample a basket of songs from the two veteran musicians.
“I am calling it an executive launch because I am targeting those people who miss out in other gospel shows and again this is a platform where people will have a chance to listen to the songs and enjoy them fully,” said the gospel singer, who is a member of Livingwaters Church and has led praise teams.
He said he has been a worship leader for Livingwaters Church in Salima, Kasungu, Mzuzu, Karonga and now Kameza in Blantyre.
“I am inspired by David in the Bible who used to sing for King Solomon and would sing for him. He is my inspiration that when one is singing he needs to bring change and have an impact,” said chirwa.
He said after the executive launch in Blantyre, he would also consider going to other areas.
“As I said I am targeting church leaders and I have sent invitations to different denominations so that they should see the other side of gospel music. When people pay on the day, they will have a chance to enjoy gospel music but also be served with cocktail. There will also be a brief ceremony by Apostle Stanley Ndovie,” he said.
He described the executive launch as a different approach from other gospel concerts and that this was a concert where people will experience Holy Ghost inspired music.
Joseph, who is also an accountant working for Colgate Palmolive Limited recently led the Daniel Korenda Crusade Praise team.
His 12-track album which was recorded at One Heart Studio has songs such as ‘Chikondi,’ ‘Rise and Shine,’ ‘Yehova Mbusa Wanga,’ ‘Woyera,’ and ‘Increase and Multiplication.’
