Joseph Kamwendo, Peter Wadabwa to undergo trials at three clubs
Be Forward Wanderers’ duo, midfielder Joseph Kamwendo and striker Peter Wadabwa, will undergo trials at three clubs in Japan.
The duo arrived in Japan on Tuesday, and was welcomed by Be Forward officials.
Nomads General Secretary, Mike Butao, confirmed that some three teams have expressed interest in assessing Kamwendo and Wadabwa in Japan.
However, details of the teams that intend to offer the Nomads duo trials are yet to be released.
“We are happy that our players have arrived in Japan and we are yet to get information on the teams that intend to offer trials to the pair,” he said.
In the meantime, the Fisd Challenge Cup and Carlsberg Cup champions are reportedly set to sign Yamikani Chester from Azam Tigers FC.
The Nomads have been chasing Chester’s signature for the past three seasons but the Kau-Kau boys have been reluctant to let him go.
With few months remaining to his contract at Tigers, the former Polychem All Stars player reportedly signed a pre-contract with Wanderers on Monday.
However, Butao could neither confirm nor deny the development, saying he had been out of town and needed time to consult his colleagues.
“Of course, he is among our targets this season. He is a good player and we wish we could sign him. I heard from the media about the move. As of now, I can’t say anything but, if we can manage to bring him to Lali Lubani, that will be nice,” he said.
