Joseph Kamwendo starts training
Be Forward Wanderers Captain, Josephy Kamwendo, has started light training after being ruled out for two weeks due to an injury.
Kamwendo suffered a hamstring injury when the Nomads drew one-all against their arch rivals, Nyasa Big Bullets, in a TNM Super League second-round match at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe recently.
Wanderers Team Doctor, Samuel Matukuta, said Kamwendo, who missed Sunday’s league match against Azam Tigers at Chilomoni Stadium in Blantyre, was available for selection.
Wanderers are not in action this weekend.
“We assessed him and observed that he was not fully fit but we have recommended that he can just start light training,” Matukuta said.
The former Orlando T and P Mazembe Pirates player said he featured in the Blantyre derby while carrying an injury.
“I just volunteered to play because it was a big game. I went into the field of play while injured for the love of the team,” Kamwendo said.
Wanderers lead the league log table with 58 points from 25 games.
