Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Joseph Kamwendo believes compatriot Gabadinho Mhango can make the grade with the South Africa Premier Soccer League giants.
In an interview with Kick-Off football magazine on Monday, Kamwendo said Pirates’ style of play suits Gabadinho.
“I am very excited to see the young Gabadihno signing for a team like Orlando Pirates. I know he deserves it because he has worked so hard to be where he is today, signing for Pirates. I know it is one of the things he wanted to achieve at his age,” Kamwendo told KickOff. com from Malawi.
“My advice to him is very simple. I would advise him to go there and do exactly what the team has signed him for. I know he is a goal-poacher; he is going to score goals for them.
“I am wishing him all the best. I know he has that experience of South African football now and is going to achieve a lot of things as an individual and as a team. We are happy he is going represent and fly the Malawian flag and we wish him all the best at Pirates.”
Gabadinho has signed for Pirates from Bidvest Wits and is the fifth Malawian to don Pirates colours after Jimmy Mphamba, Ernest Mtawali, Chiukepo Msowoya and Joseph Kamwendo.
