After helping Be Forward Wanderers to win the Fisd Challenge Cup on Sunday, seasoned midfielder Joseph Kamwendo finally exchanged marriage vows with Rosey Hussein at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Chinyonga Township, Blantyre, Wednesday.
The wedding officiation was followed by a reception at Hills Garden, BCA Hills.
Kamwendo, who has also played for clubs in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Denmark, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mozambique, said he was excited to have finally wedded.
“I was looking forward to this day and I believe that this step will make me stronger to continue delivering on the pitch,” he said.
The wedding committee’s chairperson, Billy Tewesa, who is former Nyasa Big Bullets technical director, said it was important for the player to tie the knot.
“In life you need to take such steps in order to be stable,” he said.
Bridal party included Wanderers skipper Alfred Manyozo Junior and left-back Ted Sumani.
Kamwendo provided an assist for striker Zicco Mkanda when Wanderers beat Silver Strikers 3-2 to lift Fisd Challenge Cup at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
