Malawi National Netball Team shooter Joyce Mvula held a day-long training camp to equip youngsters with basics and skills of the game.
Over 34 participants attended the camp at Area 30 in Lilongwe on Saturday.
Mvula, who left Manchester Thunder to join Central Pulse in New Zealand, said the camp was a follow-up to the programme she launched last year.
“The idea is to encourage these youngsters to understand the basics of the game and also skill training so that they should master the sport at a tender age,” she said.
Mvula could not be drawn to state whether she will hold another camp this year.
However, last year she hosted two camps, one each in Blantyre and Lilongwe. In Blantyre, 31 girls participated whereas 35 took part in Lilongwe.
Mvula, who joined Thunder in 2017 from Blue Eagles Sisters, left the Vitality Netball Superleague champions after winning two titles.
