Malawi national netball team shooter Joyce Mvula’s exploits have been recognised at Manchester Thunder where she is among players listed for commercial purposes.

This is the first time for Mvula to be used for commercial purposes having played for Thunders for four seasons.

“I feel excited to be part of this. I am now into my fourth season but this is the time that I have signed balls which are on sale,” she said.

It is not surprising that Mvula has been considered for commercial purposes after helping the side to Vitality Netball Superleague championship last season.

She was also voted as Sky Sports fans player of the season in the league.

The former Blue Eagles Sisters player said she would work hard to cement her reputation.

“We have a big task ahead of us after winning the championship last year. Our team is very competitive and I have to fight to be in the team. I will not relax but work hard to help the side achieve great results,” she said.

Mvula admitted that it required professionalism to do home exercise as the league was still suspended following coronavirus outbreak which has literally grounded the world.

“We have no option but to do home training. We know what we are supposed to do so if we follow instructions we might struggle when the situation normalizes,” she said.

Mvula was also instrumental for the Queens during last year’s Africa Netball Championship in at Bellville Velodrome in Cape Town, South Africa.

Her compatriot, Lauren Ngwira also joined Thunders at the start of this season having left London Pulse. Ngwira played for Northumbria during her first spell in the United Kingdom.

However, she has settled at Thunders after featuring highly in the first season.

Both players also released videos doing drills at home to keep shape.

Former Kukoma Diamonds goalkeeper Towera Vinkhumbo- Nyirenda is also playing in the Vitality Netball Superleague having joined Severn Stars.
