The organisers of the Ovation Fusion Festival set to be held in October in Lilongwe have announced that the Bake Off challenge, which is part of the festival this year will see the winner walk away with K1 million.
The organisers Ovation Advertising said in a press statement that they are living no stone unturned to make the festival exciting this year.
Ovation Advertising Head of Media and Public Relations, Rogers Siula, said on Wednesday that the bake off challenge is one of the exclusive events meant to add extra flavour to the 2017 gathering.
“We are taking this year’s festival to greater heights and we are determined to extend our footprint countrywide through activities that do not only appeal to people but engage them in the delight of celebrating food,” Siula said.
He said the bake off challenge will be done across the country in the major cities of Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Zomba and Blantyre and that the winner at national level will pocket K1 million.
Siula observed that the business of confectionaries keeps growing in Malawi hence underlining the passion and talents that people have as regards the art of baking.
“From in house to outdoor gatherings, the art of baking keeps gaining momentum. Baking is also a prominent business avenue hence a crucial component to the development of Malawi’s economy from products, sales, services and employment,” he said.
