Ka Jive auditions in Lilongwe Saturday
With more dancers from Blantyre registering in the Ka Jive Dance Competition spearheaded by Times Group, the auditions for Lilongwe will be held Saturday at Crossroads Hotel.
Timescom Business Manager Heggar Kalowekamo said on Thursday that the auditions for Lilongwe are set and that they will start in the morning.
Kalowekamo said recently that Blantyre had registered more dancers and expressed concern that Lilongwe had fewer contestants.
“The race for fortune and fame is surely on in this competition and now we are starting the auditions. Last year the competition was a success and we want it to be bigger this year. This is why we called upon more dancers to register,” he said.
The Ka Jive competition registration started on October 2, 2015.
“This competition promises to be the most exciting with K1.5 million as the grand prize money for the winner. During the registration we encouraged amateurs to professional dancers to participate. At the end of the day, you never know what losing, winning, or even participating may mean,” said Kalowekamo.
He said this is a lifetime opportunity for dancers to display their various dance art forms to the nation with the show to be broadcast live on Times TV.
Kalowekamo said the first auditions start tomorrow followed by auditions in Blantyre on October 17.
Through this platform Times Group which recently also partnered with Lens Arts to hold the Chanco Got Talent, said it wants to promote the art of dancing but also unearth talent.
Last year Metics Street Dance Crew were the winners pocketing K1 million.
Kalowekamo also hailed Airtel Malawi who are the co-sponsors of the competition.
