The Ka Jive Dance competition grand finale will be held at Robin’s Park in Blantyre on January 30.
Timescom Business Manager Heggar Kalowekamo confirmed the development Tuesday.
“We have started working on that and I can confirm to you that we will hold the final in Blantyre on January 30,” said Kalowekamo.
Six contestants will battle it out during the grand finale, three from Lilongwe and three from Blantyre.
The three contestants who will represent Blantyre are Twist Dance Crew, Ikuba and Limbanazo Dance Crew who made it through on Saturday during the last eviction show held at Alpacinos Club 360.
The contestants who will fly Lilongwe’s flag during the final are Salama African Dance Crew, Adobe Dance Crew and The Incredibles.
“The journey to the final has been very good, people have seen the best from the dancers and there is a lot for them to see in the final,” he said.
Times Group Chief Commercial Manager Dumisani Ngulube said recently that the competition has helped unearth talent.
“We have so many groups being hired by companies which have been exposed through the Ka Jive Dance competition. As we said when we were starting this competition, our aim was to give a platform to the youths to showcase their dancing talent,” said Ngulube.
He also said through this platform they wanted to expose the dancing talent which has been neglected and that through it, the youths can be able to earn a living through dancing.
Running under the slogan Tivine Zimenezi and spearheaded by Times Group through Times Television, the competition started with Blantyre last year before extending to Lilongwe this year.
Contestants in Lilongwe have been battling it out on their own likewise in Blantyre before the grand final.
The winner this year is expected to walk away with K1.5 million.
Airtel Malawi are the main sponsors and throughout the competition they have been splashing different prizes to people including selfie sticks and smart phones.
