Dwangwa based golfer Bregar Kaingwe is this year’s Kingfisher Insurance Brokers golf champion after putting up an impressive performance at Nchalo Golf Club on Saturday.
Kaingwe hauled 37 points counted in with Dr Yasin Njalale on second position while Mac Chitatanga scooped third position with 36 points.
Kaingwe got a Defy stove while Njalale walked away with Samsung Home theatre. Chiyapanga got an Air Cooler.
Kaingwe said he was glad to win the tournament.
“When we left Dwanwga, I never thought I would win the tournament,” he said.
“I even told my fellow golfers from Dwangwa that I was not sure if I would win this time around.”
In ladies category, Rosa Mbilizi emerged champion with 33 points while Ruth Mvula scooped the second position with 26 points.
Mbilizi was also elated after her victory and thanked her playing partners for inspiring her during the tournament.
“It’s always good to win at Nchalo,” she said.
Senior golfer accolade went to Chrispin Ng’oma.
Kingfisher Managing Director Henry Sisya, thanked the golfers for taking part in the competition.
“Thank you all for your participation as well as the Nchalo golf club for organising the tournament.”
“To our winners, for sure you showed a sporting spirit. I believe those who won followed the rules to the book. Congratulations. We appreciate your time and hope to see you next year.”
Sisya said the tournament also gave the insurance brokers an opportunity to interact with the customers.
“To us at Kingfisher, this is an opportunity to interact with you all who have come here,” Sisya said.
“We have picked up a few things that we need to improve on at Kingfisher. We believe that with this occasion we will be able to improve”.
Kingfisher, which has also extended to pension and life, donated K200,000 to Nchalo for maintenance of the golf course.
