The journey that started with 27 groups from the Southern Region came to an end on Saturday when the 10 groups that made it to the Southern Region finals competed for a place in the top four.
Four groups, namely, The Danger Crew, Floor Steppers, Soweto Boys and Mdubz Dope Crew impressed the judges and the audience that gathered at Robin’s Park in Blantyre.
These four are expected to come face to face with the four groups that will be picked this Saturday at the Central Region finals which will take place at Kamuzu Institute for Sports in Lilongwe.
The audience will also be entertained by Malinga Mafia, Sangie, Lulu and Charisma. Gate fee is K1 500.
About 55 groups auditioned for Kajive Season 3—28 from the southern Region and 27 from the Central Region—but only 20 groups made it to the regional finals. The competition has been running for three consecutive years and keeps on improving every season.
The past seasons accommodated dancers from the Southern Region but this time it has accommodated dancers from all three regions of Malawi. The prize money has been increased from K1 million to K2 million.
