Kanthu Kalinda commonly known as Kaka will on Sunday launch his latest album Matolatola at M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe.
The launch will be spiced up by performances from Paul Banda, Sam Smak, Davie Nsaku, Blaze, DNA Lenzo Mshanga, Lulu, Nepman and Skeffa Chimoto.
Kaka, who has performed with several bands in the country including Lucius Banda’s Zembani Band, said yesterday that he was happy to launch his Matolatola album.
“I have worked very hard on this album and I am hopeful that people will patronise this launch,” Kaka said.
The album has 12 tracks including Akumandichita Bizinesi, Ndinu Mwini, Nkhaza za Mai and Siine Wa Tsoka
Matolatola is Kaka’s third album. He debuted with Chosadziwa which he recorded in 2005 while he was starring with Mlaka Maliro’s Maloto Vibrations.
His second is titled Athawa Yekha which he released in 2012 and has songs such as Ine ndi Bwana and Cellphone.
Kaka, who has impressed people during live performances mostly with his imitation of other artists released his second album when he was with Zembani Band.
“I believe I am making progress and I am taking the right direction. The good thing with me is that I have my own style. If you listen to the songs in the new album you will see that these are songs which have mature messages,” said the keyboardist.
Currently Kaka is a member of Skeffa’s Real Sounds Band.
The 28-year old musician hails from Kalindang’oma Village, Traditional Authority Mponela in Dowa.
“It has not been easy to be where I am today. You may wish to know that I am the only child in our family and it has been difficult for me to further my studies but I thank God for the talent,” Kaka said.
